JANUARY SALE
Yes, it's that time again. I have slashed prices in my Etsy store on many items, from beads, to art. Looking for a bargain? Then pop along and see if anything catches your eye. I have new ideas for my store for the coming year, with new products to make and sell so keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime, many of the items that I have put in my sale will not be renewed once the listing expires. Time for new things. Who knows what the coming year will bring but I hope that all you you will have a happy and prosperous 2011.

Happy Year of the Rat
It has been very spring like today. Warm and sunny, birds twittering in the bushes, a little spring cleaning going on and the windows open. We'll probably have snow tomorrow.
Speaking of tomorrow - it's the Chinese New Year. This will be the Year of the Rat. Being a rat myself (having been born in the year of the rat - not that I have a tail and fur) and with a love of all things rodentia I am quite pleased. However, I took a look at a Year of the Rat horoscope and discovered that it wasn't to be too great a year for us rats. Usually a specific animal year is good for those born in those years. In other words, it should be good for rats. But it isn't. And water rats (those born in the year corresponding to a specific element - water, air, earth, metal, wood) are to be worst off of all rats. Guess what I am? Yup, a water rat. Oh deep joy! One of these days my luck will turn and I will drop dead of shock. Lucky I don't pay much attention to horoscopes then.
Anyway, to commemorate the Year of the Rat I have made an ATC with a papercut rat. I have also included some pics of inchie designs I am sending out for swap.

New Year? Bah!!!
So it is the New Year. Last year was a pig. In fact the last 18 months have been a pig. However, 2006 went out with a crash and a bang, as I should have expected. We had terrific storms last night and at about 7.15 there was a terrific crashing, shattering noise. I looked out the bedroom window to find the lid of the coal bunker had blown off and the large rock holding it down (supposedly to stop the wind blowing the lid away) was lying on the back shelf of the car. The wind had caught the lid, lifted it up and catapulted the rock through the window. Talk about mess. And to top it off I had to go out and try and fix up a temporary cover to keep the rain out of the car with huge winds buffeting me - and a poor, wee sparrow that was being blown about like a piece of fluff. Of course, I got up this morning and tripped over a tube of posters I am storing for my sister. Then my PC wouldn't start. What does this mean for the coming year? I dread to think.
I have to get back on track with my art. I have a couple of commissions in the pipeline and I have to get my head into the right mode. Still not sure how I'm going to do that but I said I would do the work and the work will be done! Been doing a few more 1x1 inch squares though. Someone suggested covering boxes with them. I like that idea and as a box hoarder have many boxes to cover. But serious work must come first.
